Leveraging Contractors to Hire Workers with Disabilities: The attached point system will help the Federal Government enforce Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Section 503, as amended, requires federal contractors and subcontractors with Government contracts over $10,000, to take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment qualified people with disabilities. This point system is arbitrary but reflects the weighted importance of each criterion.
