IN RE: file code CMS-2232-P (NEMT requirement / Medicaid)
I am concerned that if the rule change is adopted this will result in the neediest of the needy of our citizens to forgo healthcare needs. It is no small matter finding and paying for transportation. I am especially concerned that certain disabled persons and in particular hemodialysis patients will miss treatments upon which their lives depend. The U.S. should be and can afford to be a better country than one that risks the well-being and lives of its most needy citizens. NEMT transportation should remain as a requirement of Medicaid entitlement.
