When my children (now nearly 40) were in high school the junk food was starting to infiltrate the schools. I am health conscious and this act took that control away from me. They had been educated about food and choices, but children do not always do what is wise and correct. My daughter was not then, but is now obese. I am now raising two of my sons children, and they are in high school. It is much easier for a junk food parent to send the junk food to school with their children than it is for a health conscious parent to restrict money and choices that are pushed into their childrens faces during the 38 hours per week they are in that school. I am supposed to trust the public school to protect my children, I cannot due to the repugnent choices schools have made in the name of raising money for school projects. If people are afraid their rights to make choices is being infringed, where do my rights to guide my children come in.
