EPA's Proposed Final Policy on Consultation and Coordination with Indian Tribes

EPA’s proposed final policy on consultation and coordination with Indian Tribes is being made available to solicit public comment for 60 days. On November 5, 2009, President Obama directed all federal agencies to develop plans to assure regular and meaningful consultation and collaboration with tribal officials consistent with Executive Order 13175. On his order, starting in January of 2010, EPA began soliciting input from tribal governments in the process of developing a new and improved consultation and coordination policy. The proposed final Policy reflects tribal government input.
