Battery Charger Active Mode

Section 302 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 amends the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to require that test procedures for all covered products (including battery chargers) be reviewed at least once every seven years. A separate test procedure rulemaking for battery chargers for standby mode and off mode was completed in March 2009 (74 FR 13318). An energy conservation standards rulemaking for battery chargers is scheduled for completion by July 2011.
